To be honest, the last few months have been a whirlwind to me. And I sense that I am not alone in this. Times are crazy. I hear you mumbling, to yourself, "You can say that again." Okay, I will... TIMES ARE CRAZY RIGHT NOW!!! All kinds of crazy. Crazy GOOD, Crazy BAD, and Crazy WHAT THE HECK?!
And you and me and us and we.... are living in it. This is OUR time. This is our CRAZY, APPOINTED, MAGNIFICENT, WILD, MARVELOUS (Insert indescribable adjective word that describes you having utterly no words to describe it here). This crazy whatever you want to call it time, is yours, mine and ours for the taking, but it's up to you and me to take it. "From one man He made every nation of men, to inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands." Acts 17:26 (and more Bible goodness here: http://biblehub.com/bsb/acts/17.htm)
CRAZY GOOD TIMES- I love to sleep. Like really. I can sleep like a rock. I remember being so hard to wake up when I was a child. I would moan and groan, and yell and scream at whoever tried to wake me up. Seriously, I was that kid. I thought about this recently when I was waking up my son, Aiden, who loves his sleep too. I'm grateful he doesn't scream at me... but I need to shake him a bit and turn the lights on to wake him up, it takes a couple of minutes. I can still be difficult to wake up, I tend to choose alarms that are sweet because I don't want to have a sour mood by darn alarm clocks annoying my ears. But the problem is that I then will choose to hit the snooze a bunch of times on my sweet, melodious tune. Uh oh. So my husband finally told me, "Aimee, stop choosing alarms that are nice. You need a louder one." Oh the wisdom of our spouses or parents or whoever has wise counsel for us that we truly NEED to listen to. He was right. I needed to change my alarm.
God has changed the alarm on us church. He is shaking us to wake us up. He's been gentle and melodious, but He's getting louder. It's time. It's happening. I have seen Christ followers awakening in the past year or so. He is urging us to get ready, be ready and put oil in our lamps. If you have no clue to what I'm blabbing on about or disagree I would urge you to read the book of Matthew, Revelations, or the entire new Testament, and Old Testament.... it's all there. God already even told us to wake up in Ephesians. "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." This is from Ephesians 5. Such a good chapter... dive into it here: http://biblehub.com/bsb/ephesians/5.htm
What does this awakening mean for us? Why does God need us awake? I didn't know we were asleep. Where do we need to go?!
I'm so glad you asked those 3 questions- here are the answers, and you're going to love it. Being awake means ReViVaL! He wants us to wake up to a personal Revival that will spill over into EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES! We then will take this REVIVAL wherever we are.
Calm down. Stop looking for a tent meeting.
For the past 20 years or so, I have watched the church pray for Revival and a move of God. He is awakening us to realize that in these amazing moments, we don't have to wait on a move of God. It is here. He is awakening us to catch it NOW.
The Revival begins with us.
YOU are the Revival.
I am the Revival.
WE are the Revival.
We don't have to have holy water, a cross and an ordained minister certificate to experience this revival. Our ducks don't have to be in a row. We can come in our pajamas. We just need to WAKE UP and show up.

I am personally blown away by that definition, because I see God all over it. God wants us to wake up, show up, renew our hearts and minds in Him so much that it spills over into everything we are and who we are. I think God is tired of us waiting and praying. He is beyond ready to answer us. We just need to believe it. We need to BELIEVE the word of God. I was a sleepy Christian half heartedly believing the Word of God, squeezing out hope that maybe He would answer my prayers. I didn't look much like any kind of warrior. On Sundays I was a great warrior, and inconsistently I was fairly alright. But He was calling me to go deeper, believe with faith and catch a fire. Church, it's time that we catch this fire if we haven't already. Our personal revival and renewal will ignite things that we could only ask for or hope for or imagine. It's a revival that begins to believe that He has called us and we need to fan the flame of the gifts He has given us, and stop waiting for affirmation or qualification. We don't need to be qualified to believe something. The belief in faith IS the qualification.
The Bible says simply that He has called us and qualified us to minister according to the gifts He's given us. In fact, Jesus commanded us to do this in Matthew 28, in the Great Commission:
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
So... I don't believe this post is over. I believe God has more to say on this topic. But for now....I want to leave you with a prayer, and an amazing song that I do believe can ignite belief in a personal revival for you today.
PRAYER: God I do pray that as we listen to this song... you would begin to REvive our hearts. I pray that a flame would begin to burn so bright within us. I pray that a hope and faith arises within us to begin to believe you for the things we've been needing to happen for a long time. Maybe it's healing, maybe it's a deeper hunger for you that we've been asking for, we ask for those things in faith now, trusting in Your divine answer and timing. Whatever it is, I ask that we would begin to MAKE ROOM for you. That we would hunger and thirst for more of YOU. That an healing JOY would rise up within us, knowing that WE ARE YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS and You have called us to live and embrace this crazy time with YOU living in us. Speak to us, even now God, about what that means for us individually..... Lord we need You, desperately. Come, fill us and REVIVE us. Help us to turn from the things that hinder us, help us to repent from things that with hold us from You. Lord, we love You. Thank You for Your love and kindness towards us. Thank You for waking us up to our own personal Revival.
